Speech of the head of the community responsibility unit:
The community responsibility unit at the Deanship of Quality Assurance at the University of Gezira is considered one the fundamental pillars that reflect the university’s commitment toward society. It seeks to enhance the role of the academic institution in serving the community and achieving sustainable development.
The unit works on linking educational and research outputs with the needs of society through implementing initiatives and programs that aim to address community issues, raise awareness, and support various groups. It also contributes to promoting the values of volunteer work and strengthening partnerships with local institutions, achieving integration between the university and its surrounding community.
The community responsibility unit affirms its continuous commitment to applying quality standards in all its activities, ensuring a positive and sustainable impact, and enhancing the status of the university of Gezira as a leading institution in community service and capacity building.

Mission:
The community responsibility unit seeks to strengthen the partnership between the university and local community through awareness programs and initiatives, supporting applied scientific research, and promoting a culture of community responsibility in accreditation.
Objectives of community responsibility unit:

The community responsibility unit aims to achieve a set of objectives that enhance the university’s role in serving the community, including:
- Strengthening the university’s in contributing to sustainable community development.
- Linking educational and scientific research out puts to actual community needs.
- Promoting the community responsibility and volunteer work within the university environment.
- Building and strengthening partnerships with various community institutions.
- Raising community awareness in the fields of health, environment, and education.
- Supporting initiatives aimed at improving quality of life for different groups.
- Instilling values of belonging and community service among students and faculty members.
- Ensuring that community activities comply with quality standards and academic accreditation.
Tasks of the community responsibility unit:
- Community service and development
- Studying local community problems ( rural issues, health, education, environment).
- Providing practical solutions through research and applications.
- Implementing initiatives to support families and the community such as relief or awareness programs.
- Organizing Community activities:
- Conducting workshops, seminars, and awareness
- Implementing training programs for the community (teachers, students, professional staff).
- Promoting volunteer work :
- Spreading the culture of volunteerism among students and faculty members.
- Organizing volunteer initiatives and encouraging student
- Linking the university with the community :
- Building partnerships with government institutions and civil society organizations.
- Coordinating with authorities to address development issues.
