I am Dr. Ayman Hashim Awad Al-Karim Abdel-Majid, Dean of the Faculty of Media at Al-Jazeera University, and I would like to welcome you to this space.

The Faculty of Media at Al-Jazeera University is one of the leading faculties in the field of media and communication sciences and arts in Sudan. The faculty offers diverse academic programs in media and communication fields, including journalism, radio and television, advertising, public relations, and multimedia. The Faculty of Media at Al-Jazeera University was the first faculty in Sudan to grant degrees in communication sciences, as communication has been a subject of study at the faculty since its establishment in 1994. The faculty was renamed the “Faculty of Media” in recognition of the vital role of media in various aspects of life, especially those related to development. In addition to postgraduate studies in media, the faculty offers four undergraduate programs in journalism and publishing, radio and television, multimedia, and public relations.

The faculty strives tirelessly to implement the university’s motto: “Excellence and Innovation” by preparing media professionals capable of revitalizing the media’s role at the local, regional, and international levels. The college is founded on a vision of excellence in academic programs, scientific research, and community service in the field of media. Its mission is to prepare and qualify distinguished graduates capable of competing in the media field by equipping them with modern concepts, skills, and experience. The college’s curriculum focuses on application and practice in its studios, which include journalism and digital media editing labs, as well as television and radio studios equipped with the latest technologies. Students also receive internships in various public and private media institutions.

The college aims to be a distinguished academic beacon in the field of media in Sudan, comparable to the best media academic institutions worldwide. The College of Media has conducted hundreds of master’s and doctoral theses covering vital topics and issues of concern to society (both local and international), addressing its needs in the areas of media knowledge: (journalism and media, television and radio, digital media, public relations, and advertising).

At the College of Media, we strive to provide an excellent learning environment for our students, enabling them to develop their skills in the field of media and communication. We also work to provide our students with job training opportunities in numerous media institutions in Sudan. We are also proud of our distinguished academic traditions and look forward to continuing to provide excellent educational programs for our students.

In closing, I extend my gratitude to all the faculty and staff of the college for their dedicated efforts in striving for quality and excellence, ensuring that the College of Media remains a beacon of light within us, illuminating our horizons and etching in our hearts words of gratitude and appreciation. My sincere thanks to you all.
