Centers
Center for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research
The center was established on March 17, 2013, and its main objectives include:
Preparing postgraduate students and conducting research in the center’s field of specialization.
Coordinating research activities, establishing a library and herbarium, and developing methods for cultivating, harvesting, and collecting medicinal and aromatic plants, as well as building a database and documenting research outcomes.
Developing methods for formulating and preparing natural pharmaceutical products from specialized plants and enhancing their effectiveness.
Contributing to the discovery of new drugs.
Providing scientific evidence for the efficacy, safety, and quality of herbal products and comparing them with quality standards.
Establishing academic partnerships and strengthening connections with research centers and relevant institutions inside and outside Sudan.
Contributing to community service by raising awareness about the benefits and risks of using medicinal and aromatic plants.
Supporting the training of workers in fields related to the center’s services.
