The College of Industrial Engineering and Technology at Al-Jazeera University is a leading institution in linking engineering education with community service and sustainable industrial development. Since its establishment, the college has adopted an applied approach aimed at harnessing knowledge and scientific research to serve the national economy and improve the lives of citizens.

The college has established several industrial incubators that serve as effective platforms for training and production, most notably:

• The Ready-Made Garments Incubator: to train young men and women in clothing design and production and support industrial entrepreneurship.

• The Recycling Incubator: to promote the concepts of the circular economy and transform industrial waste into usable products.

• The Epoxy Products Incubator: to train young men and women in polymer product manufacturing techniques and innovation in industrial design.

As part of its mission to serve the community and enhance its productive capabilities, the College of Industrial Engineering and Technology organizes a range of specialized training programs and courses targeting industrial sector employees, graduates, and entrepreneurs, with the aim of developing technical and managerial skills and increasing production efficiency. These programs include:

• Operation and Maintenance of Industrial Equipment: to train personnel in the safe operation and effective maintenance of production equipment.

• Quality and productivity control to raise industrial performance standards and ensure products conform to technical specifications.

• Industrial entrepreneurship to support youth and women in establishing and managing successful industrial projects.

• Occupational safety and health to promote a culture of safety and improve the work environment in factories and production facilities.

• Waste and plastic recycling to promote the concepts of the circular economy and environmental sustainability.

The college also provides specialized technical consultations to textile factories, cotton gins, and ready-made garment factories in the areas of quality control, process development, and technical performance improvement. It is also keen to actively participate in industrial exhibitions and national development initiatives that contribute to spreading the culture of local manufacturing and encouraging innovation.

The college also participates in setting standards for the textile and ready-made garment sector in cooperation with relevant national authorities, which enhances the quality of local industry and supports its competitiveness in regional and international markets.

The college is currently working on its rehabilitation as part of a comprehensive reconstruction plan to resume its vital role in empowering youth and women and supporting small production projects.

The college also places great importance on environmental development and industrial sustainability by developing solutions for waste recycling and improving energy efficiency in the industrial sector. It also works to link scientific research to the needs of society by directing graduation projects and applied research to solve real-world problems facing factories and production sectors.

The college plans to establish an Innovation and Industrial Entrepreneurship Center to serve as an integrated platform for supporting entrepreneurial ideas and connecting them with the industrial sector. It also seeks to expand its partnerships with factories and production institutions to provide technical consultations and practical training, thus strengthening its role as a key driver of industrial development in Sudan.
