Senate
Based on the Act of the University of Gezira for 1995 Chapter III Article (24) the Senate is made up of the following members:
- Vice Chancellor of the University Chairman
- Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University Member
- Principal Member
- Dean for Academic Affairs Member and Registrar
- Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Member
- Dean of Student Affairs Member
- Deans of Faculties and Institutes Member
- Secretary of the Libraries Member
- Deputy Deans Member
- Directors of Centers Member
- Heads of Departments Member
- All Faculty members who are Professors Member
- Two members representing the students and Member
selected by members of the Student Union
The Senate sets the conditions and regulations of the educational qualifications required for admission of students in undergraduate and postgraduate levels, awarding of scientific and honorary degrees, scientific awards and the organization of programs of the university examinations in accordance with the provisions of the statutes. It also encourages the scientific research and guidance of the philosophy of scientific policies in the university. Senate meets regularly four times a year on the third Sunday of the month (March, June, September, December) to complete its work.
