Mission:

 Active participation in achieving agricultural, economic, and social development based on environmental conservation, the preservation of natural resources, and the sustainability and sufficiency of production.

Objectives:

1. To prepare and qualify distinguished academic and professional personnel in agricultural and environmental knowledge and natural resource sciences.

2. To conduct research aimed at solving societal issues in the agricultural, environmental, and natural resource fields.

3. To conduct research related to the issues of the third millennium, especially pollution, desertification, the decline of biodiversity and vegetation cover, and climate change.

Ongoing Research:

 1. Monitoring of soil seed bank in the clay plain of Sudan. 2. Ecology of natural regeneration of Heglig (Balanites aegyptiaca “L.” Del.) along the Blue Nile, Sudan. 3. Impact of gender participation in forest management in Al-Gadaref State. 4. Effect of solar radiation on sweet leaf (Capsicum annum) productivity.
