The College of Graduate Studies and the faculty of Mathematical Sciences organized a training workshop on the applications of the electronic system for postgraduate studies during the period from 31August to 2 September, which is organized by the Examinations and Results Department. The workshop was carried out by dean of the faculty of Mathematical Sciences Dr. Awad Allah Muhammad Ahmed and Director of the Center for Computer and Information Technology Dr.Qais Al-Hadi Babiker Al-Hadi. The program of the first day of the workshop included an introduction to the electronic system program for postgraduate studies, familiarizing the participants with the methodology of the components of the program and data entry. The second day program included practical training for the program, linking e-mail and the Internet to transfer information’s, beside practical applications. The faculty of Mathematical and Computer Sciences is developing a program for the electronic system for postgraduate studies, which is an extension of university studies programs that the faculty has begun to develop since 2012 and formed technical teams for it to supervise and develop. The program, according to the dean of the faculty Dr. Awad Allah Muhammad Ahmed, has the advantage of having the data centralized. The system also enables the program to give symbols to faculties, specify levels of users in the administrative aspect and authorities, in addition to adding and coding departments within faculties and adding programs and degrees awarded. Director of the Center for Computer and Information Technology Dr. Qais Al-Hadi said that the system extensions allow the electronic registration process to be opened in all its steps, similar to the undergraduate programs and it also allows the certificates to be centralized. Head of Examinations and Results Department, course coordinator Dr. Ayman Hashem Awad Al-Karim, said that they were in dire need of this workshop in order to diagnose all aspects related to exams and results in postgraduate studies at the University In order to correct methods and develop optimal work methods in order to reach high quality. He expressed his hopes that the workshop would be a success in achieving its main objective of providing participants with knowledge that can be translated in reality into skills through outstanding professional performance in the field of graduate studies.
