The number of candidates for admission at the University of Gezira for the years 2019-2020 in public and private admission, and the sons of employees and foreign students, according to an official statistic revealed by the Information and Technology Unit of the Deanship of Students Affairs; ”6381 ″ students. The Council of Deans decided in its emergency meeting No. 1, headed by the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Mohammad Taha Yousif last October; to start registering new students batch ”42 ″ – as of Sunday, the twenty-ninth of December. In its extraordinary meeting last Thursday, the Council decided to form a supreme committee to prepare and arrange procedures for receiving, accepting and registering batch students. ”42 ″ headed by the dean of the students affairs Dr. Qais Mahmoud Hamid, Dean of scientific affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Amin alternate chairman and membership of the relevant authorities. The committee is concerned with determining the date and period of the medical examination, registration, and following the services of students in terms of cafeterias, libraries, sitting, and toilets, as well as reviewing and printing the student guide and the regulations included in it and reviewing the internal environment and its capacity to receive students. The committee also specializes in determining the dependency and knowledge of the conditions for submitting the sponsorship ,borrowing ,the medical examination, the health insurance card, the readiness of the halls and laboratories, and the University environment. The committee decided at its first meeting today, headed by Dean of Students Affairs Dr. Qais Mahmoud Hamid, forming a joint working group between the Deanship and the national students welfare to put technical solutions to secure housing for male and female students according to the required specifications, in addition to discussing arrangements for printing the guide for students electronically and paperly and ensuring access to academic regulations for students and benefiting from technology in this aspect. The Committee referred that to the importance of creating medical examination sites and taking into account all aspects that would give adequate outputs about the students’ health level by measuring all vital devices, diagnostic, guidance and treatment services and called on the committee to accelerate the steps to obtain the health insurance card.
