Prof. El-Sanousi Inaugurates the Basic Training Course in the Development of the professional Competencies of the University Professor

Started yesterday the training course on the development of the professional competencies of the University professor, which is organized by the University Development Center and will continue until 12th of August and targeted the newly appointed teaching staff, old teaching staff and professors at higher education institutions who wish to participate in this  training course.

 The Vice Chancellor of the University of Gezira Prof. Mohamed El- Sanousi Mohammed, addressed the opening session, confirmed the contribution of the  training course to raise the capacity of the University professor in the fields of teaching, academic guidance, scientific research and community service, pointing out to the importance of training in the academic field and wishing to the learners a useful training. The Director of the Center Dr. Abdullah Al-Faki Abbas, explained that the course aims to provide a training program for 92 hours in various fields related to the development of the professional performance of the University professor (guidance , raising the efficiency of the teaching process, the use of technology in education, measurement and evaluation, Scientific research and community service ,designing and Curriculum development, academic and administrative leadership, quality and accreditation).

 The training course aims to identify the University laws and regulations, introduce the ethics of the University teaching profession and scientific research, learn about the methods and ways of teaching, develop the teaching staff’ ability to employ computers and the Internet in the educational process, and the skills of guidance and academic guidance, identify the various means to evaluate the performance of academic students, and prepare the exams and know the specifications of the good exam, beside the principles and concepts and skills of design and development of the curriculum and contribute to the building of the outstanding experiences in the field of quality and evaluation and academic accreditation and Developing the capacity of the administrative and leadership teaching staff and supporting and exchanging experiences among teaching staff.
