The Faculty of Economics and Rural Development is witnessing comprehensive works of maintenance, which was donated by one of the students of the Faculty, it included the buildings (6-9), with their all departments. Besides the new building which consists of two departments, two study halls and a library.
A delegation from the senior departments, including the Vice Chancellor, the Principal of the University and number of deans, checked in the field on the progress of the work, which represented a good initiative and an original, unique approach to the University‘s graduates and students.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Mohd El-Sanousi Mohd, said that the unique role of the Faculty of Economics and its initiatives, is considered a proud for the University, in addition to its scientific programmes and services based on the accumulated experience of its professors.
He said that University of Gezira has received the knowledge and surpassed its counterparts from the universities especially in the training aspect of the educational process. He expressed his deep gratitude to these distinguished works which are characterized by the spirit of one team, altruism and good intentions. He called for designing a website under the name: (Ra’oom= ‘Tender’), to serve as the whole entity of all the people of giving and altruism.
For his part, the Principal of the University, Dr Malik Al-Naeem, praised this initiative, and considered it a kind of loyalty for this institution in which he graduated with the implementation of maintenance work covering all departments of the Faculty of Economics and its buildings. He expressed his wishes that the proposal of the technical diploma programme in economics and financial markets works to develop the University.
Whereas, the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Rural Development, Dr Mohd Awad Al-Karim, noted that the existence of effective communication with the University graduates from the first and even the tenth batches, who bound themselves to ensure the finishing works of some buildings, pointing to the contribution of the University administration in the maintenance work.
On the context, the Secretary of Scientific Affairs, Dr Adel Daifallah, said: “We, as graduates of this University, are very pleased with this great work which embodies the meanings of loyalty and give back thankfulness.” Indicating that this model in the Faculty is considered within the project of the renaissance of the University.
The visit discussed the proposal of the technical diploma programme in economics and financial markets. The curriculum enhances the philosophy of the Faculty in establishing technical programmes that help in serving the community and provides the graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities in the scientific field. Economy and financial markets to contribute to the sustainable development of society.
