The Principal of the University of Gezira, Dr. Malik El-Naim, confirmed the University’s readiness to support the National Service Coordination in the State, in enforcing the programme of eradication of Illiteracy, the framework of the partnership between the coordination and the University, pointing out the importance of developing a work plan and forming a technical committee to succeed the project.
This came during a meeting, in his office today, with a delegation of the National Service Coordination which headed by the Coordinator of the State, Alaa Elddin Dakhrshawi, in the presence of deans of faculties of Education, Society and the Secretariat of Scientific Affairs.
The principal appreciated the coordination efforts and its increasing role in the inventory operations according to the latest scientific indicators that contribute to upgrading the development infrastructure. Stressing the commitment of the University and its faculties to the programs, and the implementation of programs through the training of recruits in the aspects of the methodology and data entry.
Dakhrshawi, reviewed what has been achieved in the limitation of illiterate categories at the level of administrative units with an implementation rate of 78% till now.
He revealed that the number is estimated at more than 3 thousands of illiterate, and expected to complete the limitation by the end of November. He said that the programme aims to declare that the State is free of illiteracy by 2018.
