The Constituent Workshop for the Development of the Requirements for Rooting in the University of Gezira Begins its Work in the Institute of Islamic Knowledge

At the headquarter of the Institute of Islamic Knowledge started today the constituent workshop for the development of the requirements for rooting in the University of Gezira, which was organized by the Secretariat of Scientific Affairs in cooperation with Imam Institute. The Secretary of Scientific Affairs, Prof. Omar Arabi, stressed that the development of the university curriculum is a continuous process  that has started for a long time. The curriculum is reviewed according to the university regulations and during a period of time, sometimes between 5-10 years. He pointed out that the university administration has issued a number of letters, and formed some committees to review the requirements of the university in Arabic, English, computer, and Islamic studies. He noted that the Secretariat of Scientific Affairs, the Institute of Islamic Knowledge and all members of the Technical Committee had paid particular attention to the requirements for rooting because it is very important for the student to obtain a degree of knowledge and Islamic ethics in order to be added to the academic aspects. The Dean of the Institute of Islamic Knowledge, Dr Babikir Al Awad, said that this workshop has made it possible to work on developing the rooting program for the university education. and it is alternative to what is known as the syllabus of Islamic culture in many other universities. And the adoption of the National Council for Higher Education for many elements of the knowledge content of these syllabuses indicated the systematic progress in the University of Gezira, in addition to the important roles in the definition of this university and the history of its scientific and cognitive performance. He added that the Institute of Islamic Knowledge, which has presented proposals for rooting the curriculum since the beginning of the nineties, , has become the center of thought for many of the universities that adopted these proposals in an attempt to take advantage of the fruits produced by its pioneering experience in this area. He said that the University of Gezira – in the concern of this matter – has formed technical committees to supervise the development of the syllabuses and requirements for rooting . The Secretariat of Scientific Affairs, adopted all the ramifications of these committees, their requirements and commitments, and the scientific recommendations. He explained that the requirements of rooting which are supervise by a scientific group representing the different sectors of the university include the goals and Purposes of Sharia and the Sources of Islamic knowledge, indicating that this workshop is the fourth of its kind in the framework of developing these decisions based on the recommendations of these workshops. Dr Al Awad stressed that the activities which held at the level of the Ministry of Higher Education and rooting Management of Knowledge have enriched experience for the University of Gezira, in addition to benefiting other universities from this experience. He indicating that the aims and objectives of this scientific group and the specialized committee, is to overcome these two syllabuses to deal with the issue of the rooting knowledge and Islamization of sciences as a purpose and a permanent process. A continuous concern to carry out the scientific, systematic and cognitive activity within the various sectors of the university in order to serve the doctrinal principles. And strengthens the knowledge orientations of this Islamic nation that entrusted to witness as world-level and as a knowledge experience leading the country in this regard. He stressed that the achievement of this needs to provide the reality of many of the guiding that leads to the straight path, stressing that there is no more level of regularity under the shadow of the revelation of the Koran, and to find the methods and outputs of scientific knowledge.
