The Vice Chancellor of the University of Gezira prof. Mohammed El-Sanousi Mohammed stressed on the importance of cooperation with the State of Thailand in the field of Sugar, this came during his reception in the presence of the Principle of the University on Tuesday a Thai delegation led by the Thai Ambassador Minarong Kirtmitung and a number of ┬áThais Sugar experts who have come to Sudan to cooperate and open up prospects for investment in sugar and technology transfer in Thailand, El-Sanousi pointed out to the importance of the Sugar Institute and the Faculty of Agriculture at the University in promoting the Sudanese Sugar sector through partnerships with Sudanese Sugar factories and the University creating an opportunities for Sugar studies at all levels, the Thai ambassador, who visited the central library at the University and the laboratories of Prof. Mohamed Obaid Al-Mubarak, witnessed the presentation who presented by the experts and researchers at the Sugar Institute in the University. He expressed his happiness with the possibilities and specialties that are capable of solving the problems facing the future of the sugar industry, especially Sugar beet, which characterizes the Institute, Stressing that the University deserves to be closer relations with them in the production of sugar, For his part, Dean of the Sugar Institute at University of Gezira ,Dr. Bassem Abbas Al-Tayeb, said that the institute has a wide field in studies related to Sugar crops , Pointing out that the Institute has many partnerships in the field of Sugar with Sudanese Sugar Companies and the Ministry of Industry and Irrigated Schemes, He pointed out that the Institute has conducted many studies of the problems facing the Sugar industry in the fields of agriculture and industry in addition to the training and rehabilitation of farmers and working cadres such as engineers, chemists and farmers and awarding master’s and doctorate degrees and setting up workshops and seminars.
