The second Cultural Sciences Week of Faculty of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, was opened on the 25th February, at Al-Razi Campus in University of Gezira, by the Head of the Campus of Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Haidar Al-Hadi, and the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Dr Mohammed Hamad Ahmed Al-Hibir.
The activities of the week will continue until next Thursday, include the delivery of scientific lectures in which present the models of the experiences of graduates of the Faculty from their practical experiences, as well as cultural activities “poetry – singing – heritage – chanting”, in addition to sports activities.
The Head of the Campus of Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Haidar Al-Hadi, expressed his happiness for the level of organization and output of the Week, asserting that the University is keen to support such activities, as it shows the talents and creativity of students. After that he paid a visit to the exhibitions accompanied by teaching staff, where there was a long discussion between them and the students of the Faculty about the projects presented and the usefulness to be achieved out of it.
the Dean of Faculty of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Dr Mohammed Hamad Ahmed Al-Hibir, stressed the importance of extra-curricular activity, saying that it highlights the talents of students and develops them. He continued: “In the Week, there have been innovations of students which have nothing to do with specialization, such activities are important,” pointing out that a number of graduates of the Faculty will provide practical experiences through several lectures, saying that this facilitates the transfer of experiences and benefit from it.
The lecture session about the Cloud Computing was initiated by Dr. Abu Sufian Al-Jilani, a member of teaching staff at Garden City College, who is a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, batch 17th.
