During his meeting with the Head of the Economic Secretariat of the Sudan Workers’ Union, the Engr. Abdal-Bagi Nour al-Daem, the General Director of Workers’ Microfinance Company, with the presence of Union of Higher Education Workers and the Sub-Corporation of University Workers’ Union, he affirmed the readiness of the University to facilitate all proposed projects for the workers, which the Union in an agreement with the Economic Secretariat of the Sudan Workers’ Union, intended to implement it.
For his part, the General Director of Workers’ Microfinance Company, Uz. Zain al-Abideen Abdal-Azeem, asserted their readiness to finance the projects that laid out at the meeting by the University Workers’ Union.
Uz. Omar Mohammed Khair Abu-Shalaa, pointed out that the projects which the Union intends to enter are in plant, animal and dairy production, in addition to commercial mall, as well as benefiting from the existence of the National Oilseed Processing Research Institute (NOPRI), praising the advanced relations between the Workers’ Union and the administration of the University and the partnerships that have been made between them for a number of projects.
The Head of the Union of Higher Education Workers, Dr. Abdullah Ibrahim, said that the union now has ready studies for seven projects, including five quick-term projects in the oil processing, the cultivation of oilseeds, the bank of cows, fattening of calves, bread bakery, as well as short-term projects Oils factory, and slaughterhouse for poultry.
Engr. Abdul Baqi Nour said that the economic secretariat aimed at absorbing these negative effects of the liberalization policy and strengthening the economic centers. He pointed out that funding is provided through a number of outlets and partnerships with many internal and external institutions. Stressing that the partnership with the University of Gezira will be a model through the University‘s expertise and infrastructure.
